Strata is a monthly record of protest and social issues reported directly from ground level. A visual structure and theme was needed to provide template to build off of for several issues going forward.
This led to the design featuring bold layouts, expressive typography, and a system of visual elements to reflect the urgency, emotion and complexity of grass-roots resistance.
Strata reports on serious social issues and is a report from the streets. The direction is a straightforward news magazine, but the bold use of colour and imagery evokes the urgency and unease of these stories.
